"Postpone not a good action" - Irish proverb.
Despite efforts from the government, non-governmental organizations and other independent bodies, we have not succeeded in eradicating “Child Labor” and have provided better facilities, new books, meal twice a day to these children only in files and folders present in government offices. We all witness child labor in some form or the other every day. Whether its road side tea stall, or the parking area of a shopping mall or a construction site everywhere 24x7. But instead of helping these innocent poor children we just walk away with a simple excuse “We have loads to handle! Non of our Business!” Struggle for freedom was not Gandhiji’s business too! He was well qualified lawyer who came back to India after law practice in South Africa. It was the need of the hour!
Considering the modern times, we can’t expect one to get involved in this noble cause in a professional manner (Like carrying out campaign, taking classes for poor children without charging any fees etc) but the least we can do is to…make an effort to spread awareness and also to ensure that we(also the family members and friends) are not indulged in this sin in any form.
“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”
Through the involvement and support from several individuals, groups of individuals and non-profit organizations in India and abroad, ADHIKAR FOUNDATION aims to work for the rehabilitation of children belonging to underprivileged and vulnerable sections of the society and to make a real difference in the lives of these children. We at ADHIKAR FOUNDATION believe that it will take a movement of leaders with the idealism, belief, skills and commitment to actualize this vision.
Be the agents of hope for these children. Be the strength to give them better lives and eventually to build a better nation.
